The best Calendly alternatives for businesses that sell their time (2026)
Calendly is the best-known booking link in the world, and for good reason: it makes "when are you free?" emails disappear. But it was built for meetings. If you sell your time, a booking link is only one of the five or six tools you end up paying for.
The short answer
- Best all-in-one for service businesses: Calybee. Website, booking, payments, reminders and reviews in one account, from $19 a month, 0% commission.
- Best for appointments on a Squarespace site: Acuity Scheduling, from $16 a month.
- Best free option for meetings only: Cal.com or Google Calendar appointment schedules.
- Best for in-person salons that take cards at the counter: Square Appointments.
- Best for coaches selling long programs with contracts: Paperbell, at $57 a month.
Why people look for a Calendly alternative
Calendly's Free plan gives you one event type and one connected calendar. Its Standard plan, at $10 a seat a month billed yearly, adds unlimited event types, Stripe and PayPal payments and reminder workflows; round robin for teams starts on Teams at $16 a seat. For a sales team booking calls, that is a fair deal.
For a coach, a stylist or a yoga teacher, the gaps show up quickly:
- There is no website. Calendly is a link. You still need somewhere to describe your services, show reviews and tell people why to book you.
- It sells meetings. Packs of sessions, memberships, gift cards, classes with a set number of places: these are the way most service businesses earn, and a meeting scheduler is not built around them.
- Every extra need is another subscription. A website builder, a review widget, a form tool, an email tool for reminders. Each has its own login, its own bill and its own look.
So a better question than "which scheduler is best?" is "what is the smallest set of tools that runs my whole booking business?"

1. Calybee: one place for the website, bookings and payments
Best for: coaches, consultants, tutors, salons, barbers, trainers, yoga and pilates studios, pet care
Calybee is what we make, so take this section with that in mind. We built it because the people we talked to were paying for a website builder, a scheduler, a payment link, a review widget and an email tool, and none of them looked like the others.
You tell the Bee (Calybee's built-in AI) what you sell, or paste your old website or price list, and it builds the site, your services, opening hours and reminder emails in a few minutes. Clients pick a time and pay on your own site, straight into your own Stripe or PayPal. Calybee takes 0% of each booking.
- One-to-one sessions, packs, memberships and classes with places left and a waitlist, side by side on one page
- Deposits, gift cards, discount codes, add-ons and intake questions
- Two-way Google Calendar sync with Google Meet links; Apple Calendar and Outlook by calendar feed
- Reviews imported from Google, Facebook, Trustpilot, Yelp and 26 more places, plus a review request after every session
- Works inside the site you already have, as widgets for WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or any site
- Clients and bookings come over from Calendly, Cal.com, Acuity, Square, Wix, Setmore, Fresha or SimplyBook.me
Price: Solo Bee is $19 a month billed yearly ($24 monthly) with everything for one person: online payments, packs, memberships, reminders, a whole website on your own domain. Teams Bee is $29 a month ($39 monthly) for five people, with round robin, group bookings and team insights, and no seat to buy per person. Both start with 7 days free.
Where it falls short: reminders go by email (no text messages yet), video calls use Google Meet (no Zoom yet), and it is not built for HIPAA, so a licensed clinician handling health records should look at a dedicated practice tool.
2. Acuity Scheduling
Best for: service businesses already on Squarespace
Acuity is the closest classic alternative for paid appointments. It takes payments on every plan, has strong intake forms, and sells packages, memberships and gift certificates from its Standard plan.
Price: Starter $16 a month (one calendar), Standard $27 (up to six calendars, packages and memberships), Premium $55 (up to 36 calendars and HIPAA with a signed agreement), billed yearly.
Where it falls short: the website is a separate Squarespace subscription, and reviews, newsletters and a link-in-bio page are separate tools again. Read our Calendly vs Acuity comparison for the detail.
3. Square Appointments
Best for: salons and barbers who take cards at the counter
Square's Free plan covers one person with online booking, a simple booking site and Square's card readers. It is a natural choice if you already sell through Square.
Price: free for one person; Plus and Premium for teams. Square processes the payments, so you pay its card fees on every sale.
Where it falls short: your money and clients live inside Square's payment system, the booking site is basic, and packs and memberships are limited compared with a tool built around them.
4. Wix Bookings
Best for: people who want a general website builder first
Wix is a full website builder with bookings added. You get pages, a blog and an online store, and Wix Bookings handles services, classes and staff.
Price: you can build for free, but taking payments needs a paid premium plan.
Where it falls short: it is a big general tool, so setting up a booking business takes more of your own time, and the booking part is one app among many.
5. Cal.com
Best for: freelancers and developers who want a free, open-source link
Cal.com is the open-source answer to Calendly, with a generous free plan for individuals, unlimited event types and Stripe payments. Technical teams can host it themselves.
Where it falls short: like Calendly, it is a scheduler. There is no website, no packs or memberships, and no review collection.
If you are a coach, our coaching website guide shows nine examples with the booking calendar on the page.
6. Paperbell
Best for: coaches selling long programs with contracts
Paperbell is built for coaches: packages, payment plans, contracts and a client portal, with a simple coaching page.
Price: $57 a month, or $570 a year.
Where it falls short: it is five times the price of most options here and made for coaching only.
7. Google Calendar appointment schedules
Best for: a free booking page for occasional meetings
If you already use Google Workspace, its appointment schedules give you a booking page inside Google Calendar at no extra cost.
Where it falls short: no team routing, no packs, no website and very little control over how it looks.
How to choose in two minutes
- Do you need a website, or do you love the one you have? If you need one, choose a tool that includes it (Calybee, Wix). If you have one, choose a tool that sits inside it (Calybee widgets, Acuity, Calendly).
- Do clients pay when they book? Check where the money goes. With Calybee and Acuity it goes to your own Stripe or PayPal; with Square it stays in Square.
- Do you sell more than single sessions? Packs, memberships, classes and gift cards rule out the meeting schedulers.
- Add up the whole stack. A scheduler, a website builder, a review widget and an email tool, each billed every month, usually cost more than one tool that does all four.
A sales team booking demos should keep Calendly or Cal.com: they are excellent at that. The rest of this list is for people whose calendar is the business.
Questions people ask
What is the best Calendly alternative for a small service business?
If you sell your time (coaching, beauty, fitness, tutoring, consulting), pick a tool that includes the website and payments as well as the booking link. Calybee does all three in one account from $19 a month. If you only need a free link for meetings, Cal.com or Google Calendar's appointment schedules are enough.
Is there a free Calendly alternative?
Calybee is not free, but you can build everything before you pay and both plans start with 7 days free. Cal.com is free for individuals, and Google Calendar has free appointment schedules. Square Appointments is free for one person, with card fees on each payment.
Which Calendly alternative takes payments?
Calybee (Stripe or PayPal, 0% commission, on both plans), Acuity Scheduling (every plan), Square Appointments (through Square) and Calendly itself on its paid Standard plan. Calybee and Acuity also sell packs, memberships and gift cards.
Can I move my clients and bookings from Calendly?
Calybee imports clients and upcoming bookings from a Calendly export, as well as from Cal.com, Acuity, Square, Wix, Setmore, Fresha, SimplyBook.me or a spreadsheet, without emailing your clients.
Does Calybee replace my website?
It can. Every plan publishes a website built from designs made for your trade. If you love the site you have, Calybee adds booking to it instead, as widgets for WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or any site.
