Acuity Scheduling alternatives, and what Acuity really costs in 2026
Acuity Scheduling is a solid tool for paid appointments, and since Squarespace bought it, it is also called Squarespace Scheduling. People start looking elsewhere for three reasons: the price climbs as soon as you sell packages or add staff, the website is a second subscription, and the booking page looks dated next to the rest of their brand.
The short answer
- Acuity costs $16, $27 or $55 a month billed yearly, and packages and memberships start at $27. The website is extra.
- Best all-in-one alternative: Calybee, with the website, booking, payments, packs, memberships and reviews from $19 a month, with 7 days free.
- Best for clinics that need HIPAA: SimplePractice or Jane.
- Best for coaching programs with contracts: Paperbell.
- Best free meeting link: Cal.com.
Acuity Scheduling pricing in October 2026
| Plan | Billed yearly | Billed monthly | Calendars | Packages, memberships, gift certificates |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $16/mo | $20/mo | 1 | No |
| Standard | $27/mo | $34/mo | Up to 6 | Yes |
| Premium | $55/mo | $69/mo | Up to 36 | Yes, plus HIPAA with a BAA |
The catch is in the second column of most people's bill. A solo practitioner who sells packs needs Standard at $27, then a website. If that website is on Squarespace, its website plan is a second monthly bill, and a review widget and an email tool come on top.

1. Calybee
Best for: coaches, consultants, tutors, salons, trainers and studios who want the website and the booking in one
We make Calybee, so weigh this accordingly. It covers what Acuity Standard does (paid bookings, packs, memberships, gift cards, classes, intake questions, deposits, a team) and adds what Acuity leaves to other tools:
- The website, built for you by the Bee from designs for 60 kinds of business, at calybee.com/yourname or your own domain
- Reviews, imported from Google, Facebook, Trustpilot, Yelp and 26 more, and requested from every client after their session
- Reminder and follow-up emails in your own words, with an email designer
- A client portal with no passwords, where clients see their bookings and packs and move or cancel by your rules
- Your site in other languages, with times shown in each client's own time zone
Payments go to your own Stripe or PayPal; Calybee takes 0%. Solo Bee is $19 a month billed yearly for one person, with every page, your own domain and every feature, and Teams Bee is $29 a month for a team of five, with round robin, group bookings, each person's own link and team insights. Both start with 7 days free.
Where it falls short: no HIPAA, reminders by email only for now, and Google Meet for video calls.
2. Calendly
Best for: free consultations and sales calls
Simpler and cheaper for one person ($10 a seat a month), with a free plan. It does not sell packages or memberships, so it suits the discovery call more than the paid session. Our Calendly vs Acuity comparison goes into detail.
3. Square Appointments
Best for: salons and barbers with a card reader at the desk
Free for one person, with Square processing every payment at its own card rates. Good if you already sell products through Square; more limited for packs, memberships and a website that sells.
4. SimplePractice and Jane
Best for: licensed therapists and clinics
If you keep clinical notes, bill insurance or need a business associate agreement, these practice-management tools are the right move from Acuity. They cost more than a scheduler because they do far more than scheduling.
Coaches: see nine coaching website examples with booking built in, and what a coaching website costs.
5. Paperbell
Best for: coaches selling long programs
Packages, payment plans, contracts and a client portal for coaching, at $57 a month or $570 a year.
6. Cal.com
Best for: a free, open-source booking link
Unlimited event types and Stripe payments for free as an individual. No website, packages or reviews.
Switching from Acuity without losing anyone
- In Acuity, open Clients, then Import/export, then Export client list, and choose All clients. For appointments, open Reports, then Import/Export, and export a date range with everything upcoming. Tick your intake form only if every appointment has one: Acuity then exports just those appointments.
- In Calybee, open Clients and choose Import from another tool, then Acuity Scheduling. Calybee reads the files, shows you exactly what it will bring over, and writes it without emailing your clients.
- Recreate your appointment types as services (or ask the Bee to do it from your Acuity booking page).
- Point your website's Book button at Calybee, or let Calybee be the website.
Questions people ask
How much does Acuity Scheduling cost?
Starter is $16 a month billed yearly ($20 monthly) for one calendar. Standard is $27 ($34 monthly) for up to six calendars, with packages, memberships and gift certificates. Premium is $55 ($69 monthly) for up to 36 calendars and HIPAA support. A website is a separate Squarespace plan.
What is a cheaper alternative to Acuity?
Calybee Solo Bee is $19 a month billed yearly and includes packs, memberships, gift cards, reminders and a website, which on Acuity means the $27 Standard plan plus a Squarespace subscription. Teams Bee is $29 a month for five people, and both start with 7 days free.
Is there an Acuity alternative with a website builder?
Yes. Calybee builds the website for you with its AI, the Bee, and the booking calendar is part of the site. Wix Bookings is the other all-in-one option.
Can I move from Acuity without losing my clients?
Calybee imports clients and upcoming appointments from an Acuity export. It does not email your clients during the move, so nobody gets a surprise.
Which Acuity alternative is best for therapists?
Licensed therapists who handle health records need a tool that signs a business associate agreement, such as Acuity Premium, SimplePractice or Jane. Calybee is not built for HIPAA. Coaches and wellness practitioners who do not keep clinical records can use Calybee.
