Acceptable use policy
The short version
- Run a real, lawful business and be honest with your clients.
- Only email people who booked with you or asked to hear from you.
- Do not publish anything illegal, harmful, deceptive or that belongs to someone else.
- Do not try to break, overload or get around Calybee.
1. Why this exists
Calybee is shared by many small businesses, and their clients trust the pages and emails that come from it. This policy is part of our terms of service and applies to everything you publish, send or do with Calybee, including through team members and apps you connect.
2. Content
Do not publish or send content that:
- is illegal where you or your visitors are, or promotes illegal activity;
- infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, including photos you do not have permission to use;
- is sexually explicit, or sexualises minors in any way;
- harasses, threatens or promotes violence or hatred against people based on who they are;
- is deceptive: fake reviews, invented qualifications or awards, false claims about results, or impersonating another person or business; or
- contains malware, phishing or anything designed to trick people into giving up passwords or payment details.
3. Businesses and services
Do not use Calybee to offer or sell:
- anything illegal where it is offered, including services that require a licence you do not hold;
- weapons, illegal drugs, or services that facilitate them;
- sexual services;
- gambling, pyramid schemes, or “get rich quick” schemes; or
- emergency or crisis services, where missing a booking could put someone at risk. Calybee is a booking tool, not an emergency system.
Your payment provider may have its own, stricter list. Follow it.
4. Treating people fairly
- Publish clear prices and honour them. If you take payment, deliver the service or refund it according to the policy you published.
- Do not discriminate unlawfully against clients.
- Only publish reviews real clients gave. Do not offer rewards for positive reviews, and do not hide requests to post on outside review sites from clients who might leave a lower rating.
5. Email
- Calybee’s booking emails are for people who booked with you or your team. Do not add people who did not.
- Do not use booking emails, messages or forms to send marketing, bulk mail or unsolicited messages.
- Do not put misleading content, links or subjects in emails.
6. Data
- Collect only the client information you need, and tell clients how you use it.
- Do not ask for passwords, full card numbers or government ID numbers in booking questions or forms.
- Do not use Calybee to store protected health information if you are a US healthcare provider covered by HIPAA.
- Do not import or upload personal data you are not allowed to use.
7. The service itself
Do not:
- try to access another account’s data, or test Calybee’s security without our written permission;
- get around limits, access rules or security measures;
- overload Calybee, for example with automated requests, scraping or bulk sign-ups;
- use Calybee to host files or content unrelated to your business site; or
- resell or white-label Calybee without our written agreement.
Found a security problem? Please tell us at support@calybee.com. We welcome responsible reports.
8. What we do about it
If content or an account breaks this policy, we may remove the content, unpublish a site, pause sending, or suspend or close the account. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. We may act immediately if there is a risk of harm to people, to other businesses on Calybee, or to Calybee itself, or if the law requires it.
9. Reporting a problem
If you see a Calybee site or email that breaks this policy, email support@calybee.com with the address of the page or a copy of the email.
